Sunday School
Our children, teenagers and adults have joined together this year for a new intergenerational class, which meets from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sundays in Sugden Hall. In this class, parishioners of all ages gather to discover, for the first time or anew, the Good News that God gives us in His word. The stories of the Bible come alive, providing rich insights and instruction about us, others, the world we live in, as well as God and His marvelous kingdom.

Teaching teams prepare a series of Bible story units, each devoted to a central theme following the seasons of the church year, culminating in a contemporary worship service celebration involving the entire congregation:
  • The All Saints team initiates the study with stories of Moses’ reluctant response to God’s call to lead his people from slavery to freedom and we examine our lives and the lives of other saints responding to God’s call in a myriad of ways.
  • The Advent team will help us prepare for the celebration of Christ’s coming and the birth of love in our lives, in our church and in our world anew.
  • The Epiphany team will help us walk with and learn from Jesus on his earthly sojourn to discover that His truth remains powerfully relevant in our daily lives and world affairs today.
  • The Lenten team will lead us in cultivating self-denial and spiritual disciplines in order that we may walk beside Jesus as he faces betrayal, torture and death. Together we will rejoice in discovering an empty tomb, a resurrected Savior and His eternal gift to each of us: our own victory over sin and death.
  • The Pentecost team will help us witness the lighting of the flame of faith by God’s Holy Spirit in the early Christian church and in our own lives as we examine our response to the commission to share the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness throughout the world.
Join us each Sunday as we eat, sing, learn, laugh, celebrate and grow in faith, in community and in love for God and one another in a warm, informal, family-type atmosphere, for when we come together in Christ’s name, He has promised to be in our midst and to transform us and our church in His image.

Teachers are always appreciated. If you would like to participate on one of our teaching teams, please call the church office (261-2355).
